Army Cpl. Adam Keys lost both his legs and his left hand after a roadside bomb exploded on July 14, 2010 in Afghanistan. Adam would later learn the bomb took the lives of four soldiers, including his best friend, Jesse Reed of Whitehall.

Adam has survived over 120 surgeries. He has more than survived the strenuous and endless days of rehabilitation. Jenna Portnoy writes that he envisions himself one day joining the men at Fort Bragg for seven-mile Long Street run, once again hearing the cadence as they run.
