Todd and Crystal Nicely are the quintessential Semper Fidelis couple. This US Marine Corps husband and wife have learned together what it means to embody the Marine motto, “always faithful” to both the mission and each other.

On March 26, 2010, Corporal Nicely was leading his 1st Squad Marines back from a security patrol in Afghanistan. Just as he began to cross a bridge he stepped on a pressure plate mine. Todd recalls that his first thoughts after the explosion were to, “just breathe so I could get back to my wife.”
